At least for now, when all the items he asks for are super expensive.

Just made 2 quests with items i restocked... and all i got was Ivory Knee Socks and Pink Watch + less than 2000 sP on each...

He gave me something worth about 150,000sp when i paid 100,000sp for some item he asked for..

And another time he asked for something that's only about 15,000 that i rs myself and the item he gave me was worth about 120,000sp.

I've only done two of his quests thought because everything is so freakin expensive right now

wait till the items deflate..

I restocked a few items.. gave him a common item.. he gave me a super rare /Sun Kora Elixir/ I gave him another common that I had restocked - Normal item.

/shrugs/ seems to be like Maleria's or Wiz's quest. Random rarity item in return.

I tried a quest and he asked me something that was worth 15k so I got it and I got 200sP back...

I spent a good 300k on that drunk and he gave me some turquoise slacks >.>

I have done two so far. He asked both times for common items and i got a mundane and a normal item in return.

Quest 3 and 4 were also common items and this time i got a mundane and rare item in return.

I think that will change soon if you look how the prices of the items fall down.
Really fast.
Beside the rare ones but they will also become cheaper.

Anyway, the place is all new and the items are also so just wait a little with the quests till the items aren't that expensive anymore.

He's worth it sometimes

When I tried his quest, he asked me for an item that wasn't in any of the shops, and the other items were uber-expensive. As some of the others said above, I think I'll be biding my time until some of the piratey items deflate a bit before trying him again.

From what I've found out he gives out items based on rarity. You give him a Common item you get one in return.

Now that the items are becoming cheaper... never know MAYBE he'll start being nice.

I know. I haven't gotten one good thing, common or not. The most expensive item i got was 800-something.

@Amei After completing several of his quests I'm pretty fairly convinced that he does not give out items based upon rarity. It seems like most of his rewards are completely random. Several of the quests that I've completed have given me items that certainly don't match in rarity to the ones I've gave him. Just recently he gave me several SBQ items that were normal rarity, when the items I gave him were all common.

He also gave me this on the 2nd Quest I completed for him which is r97, and it was from giving him a common item I believe.

I would have to say that he's not worth it unless you spend less than 5,000 sP for each quest. You can sometimes get a couple of good things, but 95% of the time you're going to be paying more for the item than what you'll get in return.
At least until the prices go down a bit in user shops.

So it looks like the best way is going to be just buying out of the Rathskeller Inn and stocking up.

I took a chance and did the majority of his quests even though most were quite expensive. I ended up spending around 600,000 sP this morning and got back probably less than 30,000sP and a bunch of stuff under 1000 points.
I got three items worth a little more.


The value of those three items together is 553,000sP add that in with the 30,000 sP I made and the worth of the other items I got which is 17,000 I just barely recouped my points, but that's only if I can sell those items at their going price. (har!)
So I'd say not worth it right now.

I did some of his quests today (the cheap ones) and got nothing worth it. I didn't managed to get him drunk though.

I got two rares from him today, but I didn't really spend much sP. I gave him only the food I had stored in my vault. He's worth it sometimes, but I recommend restocking the food rather than buying it if you don't want to get ripped.

I've been keeping the stuff I get from Angrybeard for Carl-I can't restock as much as I'd like as my inventory is usually full of food for Pete XD

I'm wondering if the ones involving the alcoholic beverages have a more likely chance of giving you something good...he is DRUNKEN Carl, after all...

Because it seems everytime I do a quest where he only asks for generic food items, I get crap...

I really like his quests. I think it is more fun to get random rarity items back.
